I'll remember you Alex, as best I can, as there were so few of us from Beach that merged with the hordes of strangers from Havens, Wildwood, St. Leos and elsewhere.

Actually I did so little to engage with you so I didn't know much about you Alex. What I can say in your memory, Michael Olsen's memory, and all others who I may have dissed, teased, made fun of in childish ignorance, innocence, and immaturity, is I'm sorry.

What I remember of you is that possibly we shared the stigma that so many of us, youth in general, grow up with. That stigma that we are not popular, "in", as cute as, or accepted by others. If I had empathy and accepted you as a friend I may have known you as a very gentle, caring, considerate, compassionate classmate.

I hope that your passing can symbolize for me amends for, and the passing of, childish, disrespectful treatment of others.

May you rest in peace, and may we live in peace.

Rest in peace Alex.  You left this planet far too young.

Alex was a gentle soul as I remember.  Such a nice boy very much to himself.  Mike Burns put it so well...tears are rolling behind my eyes right now...
